Gerçekten harika bir yer! Çok kurnaz, samimi ve sıcak! Neden daha önce bir inceleme yazmadım? Her şey mükemmeldi, yemek, şarap, atmosfer! Tek olumsuzluk, Eylül 2020'de covid zamanlarında olmamız ve restoranın henüz tam olarak yeniden açılmamış olmasıydı. Biraz kirliydi ve mobilyalarda kedi tüyü vardı. Ama hostesin bizi kabul etmesine sevindim çünkü ona gelmemize çok şaşırdı (Eylül 2020'de çok az turist vardı), şu anda aslında çalışmadığını ama özellikle ona geldiğimiz için olduğunu söyledi. , bizi karşıladı, bize lezzetli bir akşam yemeği yedirdi ve kendisi ve bu harika yer hakkında birkaç hikaye anlattı! Eminim sezonda temizdir! Bu yüzden kesinlikle tavsiye ederim!

Harika atmosferik bir yer. Lezzetli yemekler ve harika kahve ile. Her şey temiz ve rahat. Kafe iki katlıdır. İkinci katta 4-5 kişilik bir şirket için bir masa var. Sokakta yerler var. Kafede 5 kedi ve 4 köpek yaşıyor (ama onlar dışarıda). Siz yemek yerken kedi yanınıza gelebilir. Herkes arkadaş canlısı ve güzel. Bölgede yemek 30-50 lira, kahve 10-20 lira. Küçük bir Türk sokağının pencerelerinden görülen manzara, bu mekana ayrı bir cazibe katıyor. Harika hostes.

Sağlıklı, sebze bazlı bir diyet beklediğimden daha lezzetliydi. Kore zevklerine uygundu. Ve sahibi çok nazik. Kedilerle konuşmak ve oynamak eğlenceliydi. Bir ana yaklaşık 30-40 lira. Kahve yaklaşık 7-10 lira. Ucuz değil ama rahat, samimi ve temiz, bu yüzden uzun süre dinlenerek yemek yemek güzel.

Very friendly owner. Cafe should've been closed this day, as owner was in need to run some errands. But as she saw us from the inside, reading the exact sign that cafe is closed, she smiled and let us in. Day was cold so initially we expected to just get a quick coffee and not delay her any more, but she quickly found few dishes to offer and so we stayed for a delicious plate of rice and meatballs. Place is so very welcoming and charming with dogs sleeping on the floor and cats minding their own business. Music was also excellent. You can find many places where you can eat for cheaper in Istanbul, but I doubt that you will find many where your time will be spent in a better company. We were in a hurry, so no photo of food, but it was as well presented as it was tasty.

Mitara was one of the most unique dining experiences I have ever had. You are welcomed into the home of the owner, accompanied by her cats and dogs. She makes you a meal and coffee as if you are a guest in her home, not a patron at a restaurant. Talking to her, learning about her story was as beautiful as the food - and the food - it was delicious as well! So was the coffee. A true, honest, Istanbul experience... If you are a small group it is worth it to stop by. And give the dogs a pet while you're there!

Before I went there, I wondered why the score was so high. But after I spent an afternoon there, now I know the reasons. The cafe made you easily feel home. And you forgot about time at home. The food and coffee were great. Last but not the least, Nazan, the cafe’s owner, is just an amazing person. It’s been a very wonderful time here. Absolutely marvelous. We came at 4 pm on Jan 1 and the place was open, the lady was very welcoming. The food is very nice, we got detailed explanations of all our options and were free to “mix and match”, we even were invited to the kitchen to take a look at what is on offer out of mezes. Not the cheapest place to eat but the overall experience is more than worth it - it feels like a home away from home, and you also get unlimited exposure to cats and dogs :) will definitely be back once in Istanbul. Cards are not accepted; customers can pay cash in lira, dollar, euro.

Owner whipped up her organic home cooked omelet which tasted fantastic with spices and lovely vegetables and mushrooms. Very friendly owner who had to manage everything on her own today due to elections, but did a fantastic job. She helps the stray dogs and cats have a home to sleep in as the other shop owners don't want them on the streets. Very kind and generous lady. Pets all very friendly and clean, she feeds them.

Very nice and cozy place to eat and relax. The food is good, the atmosphere is breathtaking. The place is like an art exhibition with many pieces of art (from private collection, I guess) and books (mostly in English) about art. It’s different from other places here.

Unique restaurant. The lady who owned the restaurant was nice and let us go to the kitchen to see all the options before we ordered. An absolute gem in Istanbul - we're only here 5 days but have already been twice and are planning a third time! Visited for both breakfast and dinner. The food is lovely - all fresh and home prepared (even the jams at breakfast), the owner is so friendly and does everything herself, the decoration is beautiful and there are cute cats & dogs. 100% recommended. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the variety and quality. This is not a "fast food" place, it's perfect to relax, eat and chat :-)

I read the fantastic reviews on this page and decided to try the restaurant out for myself. I was not disappointed! It’s the best meal I’ve had in Turkey by far - in fact the best omelette I’ve ever eaten!! We arrived for breakfast and informed Nazan, who runs this restaurant. She climbed upstairs with a bag of fresh ingredients and came down with the most spectacular concoction. The perfect amount of food put together by someone whom you can tell has a genuine love of food. Nazan came across as a lovely lady and shared her experiences with us which we greatly appreciated. Can not recommend this place enough. So if you want to eat somewhere that makes you feel at home and completely different to the standard fare you get at most of the restaurants in Istanbul, Mitara is a MUST!!

Hailing from New York where various cuisines meet their best as one can imagine, so expectations are at a higher stake when traveling. :) A week ago I went to Mitara cafe during my visit in Istanbul for dinner and had the most delicious food. I ordered the Artichoke, Beet (Salad), Green Beans, Eggplant and Olive Salad. All dishes were authentic in flavors and were very well harmonized. One can taste that the dishes were diligently prepared with heart and soul. It literally was the best food experience in Istanbul on this trip. Prices are pretty decent for the quality of of food that is served. Small dishes (starters) are 22 -33tl. My second visit I went earlier in the day sat inside the cafe and had only tea. The ambiance with hand picked art work from antics to contemporary authentic art and tools displayed makes one feel the magical environment of old / ancient İstanbul. The surrounding was just breath taking. I love Turkish tea btw. Even the tea had a marvelous flavor not like the conventional taste. Like nothing else is conventional at Mitara. I truly enjoyed being in Istanbul and Mitara is part of it! A must visit place when in Istanbul.

Delicious home-made food all sourced locally, along with fresh fruit juice and speciality teas. Beautiful interior with hand selected pieces - some made by the artist owner and others carefully restored by her too. There are some very cute and friendly pets which is always a bonus if you're an animal lover like me. This place is perfect if you're looking for a memorable, artistic and warm experience.

I love this place. The first thing you will see is a bunch of dogs and cats lying around - near tables, on the stairs, on chairs. They are so nice and friendly! Nazan, owner of the place / cook / waiter / just a very nice person. I highly recommend talking to her and listening to her stories, this way you will get so much insights about the place and the city. She is very kind. We came into Mitara because we felt in love with the place at the first sight and they offered vegan options. But we could never imagine that it would be the best decision of our trip. Nazan has magic and a gift for cooking. Her dishes are made with simple organic ingredients and spices prepared in a way that results in new, amazing, unexpected flavors. After all, she is an artist. And she create art with food as she create art with other materials, as you can see in the restaurant where básically everything has been done by herself. If you are in Istambul and you love food and/or art you have to go to this place!

I recently went to Mitara Cafe and Art after reading the recommendations on Trip Advisor. A very quaint cafe with a cosy homely feeling. There was no menu so we asked the lady what she suggested for our brunch. We had a nice plate of meze, avocado on toast and tea and coffee. However we were very surprised by the price as we were charged 140 TL for a few meze. There are much better cafes and we felt it was very overpriced for what we ate.

It is really a hidden gem in Sultanahmet area. I worked in Sultanahmet area more then 15 years. It was always difficult to find real Anatolin and good food around here because it is mostly touristy food . I loved the atmosphere and food is reall delicious. Highly recommend . And owner Nazan is a spectucalur woman .
