Arap Tava ve Kağıt Kebap söyledik. Arap Tava nın etleri çok minik olmasındandır sanıyorum çok kuruydu. Kağıt Kebap orta lezzette. Fiyatlar ortalamanın bir tık üstü. Ancak 2 porsiyon yemeğe 400 tl verdiğimiz bir yerde ıslak mendil olmaması oldukça garip. Neyse ki garson beyefendi büyük ev boy bir ıslak mendil getirdi.

Mekan dekorasyon olarak güzel aslında, Cihangir civarında bir çok mekan gibi, kendine has özgün bir tarzı var. Üst katı balkon, yola bakıyor. Etnik müzikler çalıyor, yani atmosfer güzel, personel ilgili ve güler yüzlü. Gelelim menüye, kahvaltılıklar, mezeler, salatalar, etli ve etsiz ana yemekler mevcut. Bir büyük meze tabağı (10 çeşit meze 42 TL), bir su, bir limonata, bir de Arap tava söyledik ana yemek olarak. Meze tabağının orta ve küçük boyları da mevcut, daha az çeşitle, fakat karnımız açtı :) mezeler lezzetliydi, hani efsane değil ama lezzetli. Ancak Tava tam bir hayal kırıklığı çünkü içinde eti mincik mincik arıyorsunuz. Onu tavsiye edemem. Limonata da lezzetliydi. Fiyat performans olarak kendini geliştirebilir o zaman daha keyifli olacak 😊 Kedisi çok tatlı 😍

Veganlar için seçeneklerinin bol olduğu bir yer diyebilirim. Büyük meze tabağı ve falafel siparişi verdik. Meze tabağı kötü değil ama aynı yere ikinciye gitsem muhtemelen sipariş etmem. Falafel maalesef büyük hayal kırıklığı oldu. Orta Doğu'da hiç bir ülkede böyle falafel yapılmıyor. Sunum konusuna girmiyorum, oradan çıkamayız. Afiyet olsun.

Amazing place and food is delicious. We ordered sour spinach soup, vegetarian babel special and aubergine dish. Food was tasty and value for money. Staff was extremely helpful and helped us with food selection. Would recommend everyone if you are looking for authentic turkish cuisine and vegetarian options.

The first time we came here, the kitchen was unfortunately already closed. The second time we were a bit more lucky and finally able to enjoy the delicious food. I have been coming to Babel Cafe for more than five years and it is definitely one of my favorite places in Istanbul, and there are many many to choose from. The food, the people, the music, the location, the whole vibe, is essentially Istanbul — so warm and inviting. Ask to sit upstairs on the balcony, order the manti (Turkish ravioli) or Turkish breakfast with a cheese and potato omelette, maybe even a class of a nice spirit…why not? you will not be sorry. This place gets in your bones, great night time spot too. Enjoy!

Delicious little cafe. I had the pleasure of having lunch at this little cafe after wandering up-hill and needed to rest! I had the carrot in yogurt and sausage in hummus and both were delightful and fresh. The pita was warm, pliable and ready to dip and eat. There is a bar (yeah) and my Lynchburg Lemonade was light and refreshing. I highly recommend.

The best food and beer we had in Istanbul! There are many vegetarian options and vegetarian twists to classic Turkish dishes, but you can also have meat. Beer is great with q huge variety and even limited editions. But the best is the staff, such nice and friendly guys!

Following the google review recommendations we went to dine in this nice place with great music! The staff were very friendly, and the food looked super attractive, everything was so delicious too! I also loved the Winter Tea and the way it was served, as well as the cups, they’re so cute and handy! I would recommend this place if you want to try local food and be 100% in awe with its taste! The prices are a tiny bit higher than some of the traditional places, like, we’ve spent ~500 lira for two, but it was absolutely worth it!

Honestly the best lunch we've had in Istanbul. We've had a small meze plate (wasn't small at all), mantis and Babel Special. Portions are gigantic, so be careful 😅 Everything was very tasty, and the service is fast and friendly. Waiter spoke English very well too. 11 out of 10.

Super friendly service. All staff speaks English. The upstairs area is very cozy and tucked away from the main street noise. The two of us ordered the Meze plate for 2, it was amazing and more than enough for two adults, we also ordered the Kagit Kebab which was also great, but we were not able to finish it. Overall a great experience.

What is this place, a hidden gem?! We had the tastiest homemade Turkish food ever! Kudos to the lady in the kitchen (the staff told us she makes everything). Came here today in search of vegan food and were absolutely amazed by the quality and taste! I took vegan meze plate and it included all their vegan starters. It was enough to be full for a day. My partner (non-vegan) took a kebab plate and he really liked it. We were sitting in quiet area with lots of greens listening to country music 😌🎶 The staff is kind and friendly, we had a lovely talk and were really pleased to visit the place. Highly recommend!

Babel is an authentic cafe restaurant with impeccable cocktails and Turkish cuisine from Hatay, Antakya, located in a beautiful cobblestoned alley in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Hatay is a province in Southern Turkey that the Mediterranean Sea and Syria border. UNESCO recognises it as the "World City of Gastronomy". A friend in Belgrade recommended us Babel, and he was definitely on point. We were warmly greeted by the lovely team and enjoyed an afternoon devouring the most delicious food and cocktails. We loved this dish called Gül Böreği so much, we ordered it twice. It is a pastry filled with mince meat and spices, topped with yoghurt. The flavours were like nothing we had experienced, absolutely divine. Babel is a very cosy and comfortable cafe with eclectic decor whilst perfect for people watching too and enjoying the local life around you. Highly recommend a visit to enjoy the atmosphere and sample new cuisine.

The food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. Great music playing and kind service. We ordered the meze apetizer platter and that alone could have been enough for the two of us, but we ordered main dishes which were delicious as well. So much flavor in all the different sauces. Will come again for sure.

Secondly, the service, many thanks to the guys Sukru and Levent for the service. Very friendly and cheerful people. In short, I recommend this place to everyone!

Pros: - Great atmosphere and music - Lots of vegan/gluten free options - Craft beer available (Gara Guzu) Cons: - Mezze plate is not worth 195TL, the portions are quite small and all presented in one plate, divided by cucumber slices - it honestly looks like one big soup. Nothing crazy, I’ve had much better mezze for a lower price - Service is utterly lacking. Had to ask the wait staff to come and get our orders twice and they don’t look like they enjoy their job to be honest. Did not tell us in advance that kitchen was almost closed, they just told us "yeah decide quickly cause the kitchen is about to close" when they finally came and got our orders after we asked them to... I have no problem with included tip when the service is good but being obliged to tip there did not feel fair as the service could seriously be improved. Too bad since the place itself is cute, I would’ve came back if the quality & quantity of food + service were better.

Since I’m traveling, I will cut to the chase- This place does not disappoint! I recommend the Manti (Turkish tortellini if you like Italian food, Pilmeni is you’re the Russian clientele). Pair this with the Weiss Bier from Gara Guzu Brewery, Mugla, Turkey. They will serve you well!

A must visit. The music is lovely. The food is amazing and fresh, they have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free, aside from the delicious non vegetarian menu. You have to taste the platter of 10 appetizers (I forgot it's name but it's the first on the appetizer menu). The place closes at around 1 just like almost all the pubs in Turkey. The neighborhood is friendly, I recommend you visit it during the afternoon to enjoy the other stores and art galleries next to it. The staff are friendly and most importantly THEY SPEAK ENGLISH. The prices are good for the food value. My least favorite part were the salads, they're not innovative nor varied, just the typical tomato/cucumber mix. Buy the juices are really fresh and the ayran is magnificent!! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

We loved our dinner at Babel Cafe! My husband and I ended our day sightseeing with a meal here because I read the atmosphere was cozy and rustic and the food delicious. All of my expectations were met and more! Service was fast, food was fresh and the craft Turkish brewed beer was so refreshing. We got the hummus, Gaza beers, and both ordered the Babel Special. We ate in the room upstairs overlooking the street and we had the room all to ourselves! I wish we could have eaten here everyday of our trip! Sorry we didn’t snap any photos! But food was so yummy and the time was wonderful.

Verandada en köşede sadece 2 çıkış var. Wi-Fi mevcut. 4/5 işaretini koymayı tercih ederim çünkü neredeyse yarım menü ve ziyaretim sırasında bar kartı eksik. Genel olarak çok lezzetli. Taksim meydanından çok dik yokuşa çıkmaya hazır olun. Balkonda 2 adet elektrik prizi vardır.

Babel special is very well flavored, and very unique. The tomato and cucumber salad tastes very fresh. And Arap Tava, a lamb dish, is one of my favorites, tender and flavorful. Of course, the music is great here as other people mentioned. And the staff super friendly. Such a scenic place in Istanbul city center.

Babel was a wonderful surprise! After visiting several top-rated restaurants and bars and finding nowhere serving food past 11pm or with tables available on a weekend, my partner and I hopelessly wandered down to Babel, where one restaurant staff nearby told us we could find a cheese plate. We’d walked past Babel many time before, always dismissing it as it doesn’t look like much from the outside. When inside, it feels like you’re at a friend’s house: friendly, polite, attentive staff who even share recipes, delicious home-cooked and vegetarian mezzes, great local beers and amazing, diverse music - different languages and styles, all played at a loud but pleasant volume. We sat in cute armchairs in the window and really enjoyed our time. If they renovate the terrace upstairs, the place will be even better. Highly recommended, including for dates or just snacks with friends.
